My practice is based on the belief that everyone’s experiences and needs are different. I aim to work with you in a way that is open, honest, and free from unnecessary jargon, so that together we can find an approach that supports you in the way you need.

How I Work

I work in an attachment‑informed, trauma‑aware, and neuro‑inclusive way. This means I am interested not only in what you are struggling with now, but in how your experiences, relationships, and environments have shaped the ways you relate to yourself and others over time.

Therapy with me is collaborative rather than directive. You do not need to arrive with a clear story, diagnosis, or goal. Some people come knowing they are neurodivergent, while others come with a sense that something feels hard or different, without having language for it yet. Both are welcome. Therapy can be a space to explore and make sense of your experience, rather than to define or label it.

Pace, safety, and containment

I place a strong emphasis on pacing and emotional safety. We will work at a speed that feels manageable for you, being mindful of overwhelm, shutdown, or pressure to “go deeper” before it feels right. You are in control of what we talk about, and we can slow down, pause, or change focus whenever needed.

As well as working in private practice I continue to volunteer at my placement centre, Mindful Therapies where I am also a board member. My work there involves working together with other board members to ensure affordable services are available within the Newcastle and North Tyneside area. I also support local businesses to ensure that they are neuro-affirming.

I offer counselling that recognises you as a whole person, not a problem to be fixed, tailoring our work together to support you in ways that feel right for your individual journey.
